Volunteering

Filed under: Uncategorized @ 3:54 pm and

This week we are completing Edublog Challenge #6 which is asked us to look at “work” and decided to focus on volunteering in our community.

I was looking and researching things that I know I would like to volunteer in doing , and the one that caught

my attention was The Food Bank For Monterey County. That is a food bank, they give food to people that are hungry, or people that can’t afford food. This food bank distributes 6 million pounds of food annually. Also the food bank serves approximately 10,800 people every week. I really enjoy helping others that’s why I like this. I would someday like to do this, if I did I’ll probably get something in return. I’ll get happiness and feel good if I did this and that’s all that matters. A food drive can help so many people and make a big difference in their life. Usually you have to fill out a form or sign yourself up when you want to participate in a food drive. If you don’t want to volunteer you can also help, you can help by donating food.

150 Word Story.

Filed under: Uncategorized @ 4:38 am and

Jill was staying up late tonight, watching T.V, and texting.

She was very bored and felt like going to sleep.

Jill heard the door open from her room, which was weird.

She was too scared to check who or what was it.

She yelled

“Who’s there?”

but nobody answered.

Jill was frightened because she started to hear foot steps right after.

Someone hissed

“Jill I’m coming for you”

Jill tried to force herself to sleep but she couldn’t.

She sent messages to her friends saying

“Pick me up fast I really need to get out of here!”

Cups started breaking and that’s when she saw something rare,

yet very freaky.

It got closer to her and she ran upstairs.

In a matter of seconds the thing was up there too. Jill shouted

“ Please leave me alone!”

The thing was giggling then she looks closer, it was her older brother.

Fake Facebook

Filed under: Uncategorized @ 4:31 am and

This week I had an assignment to create a fake facebook about me 10 years from now. The way we did that was, Mr.Miller gave us a template to fill out and we followed all the directions given to us. I really enjoyed messing around with this and getting to predict how our facebook would be, if we had one, 10 years from now. We had to do a lot of work but the assignement was very fun, but the facebook had to include dialogue. The dialogue part was a challenge for some people, but not for me. We were able to include the first name of our friends we put in our “facebook” but we had to ask them for permission, and also we were able to put a picture of anything to pretend those were our friends.

In my life 10 years from now I have entered San Diego State University. I am also planning in being a surgeon. I want to live their for a few years then move. I want to raise a beautiful loving family also. I hope everything turns out the way I want it to be.

Persian War.

I WILL BE WRITING ABOUT THE GREEK AND THE PERSIAN WAR. I AM PRETENDING TO BE A PERSIAN WARRIOR IN THE BATTLE OF SALAMIS.

I had began hating the war already, from all the killings and pain you see. Everyday you must work hard, and try not to get killed at war. We would kill innocent people, but the ones that hurt me to see get killed were the kids. I have had an arrow get thrown at me once, which was very painful to me. I had smelled the water , heard the birds, and been a little relaxed until I heard the captain bellow,

“Prepare for battle!”

Everyone began getting ready some were nervous. We went on deck and we saw many ships, but they were small. The were all arranged the captain said,

“Turn the ship, fast”

They were turning the ship, but it was late. The smaller ships came at us. I was able to here crashing, yelling, and other things. My comrades had been killed, some thrown off the ship. Arrows and spears were getting thrown at us. I saw blood everywhere and people in pain and smelled burning wood. We had lost the battle and all that was left was blood and wrecked ships.

Sparta Letter

Filed under: Uncategorized @ 5:30 pm and

Dear Mom & Dad

I’m writing this letter so you can know how happy I am to have you guys. I miss having you guys around

I am very grateful for having parents like you. It sucks having to be in the camp since we were seven. I know how it feels to live in a oligarchy society where only a few people are in control. Mom, I hope you like it, I also hope all the sports you’ve been in are not tiring you, and Dad stay strong and try your best. I’m very happy to be in Sparta, especially since Athens’ army is nothing compared to ours. We have a great government and have way more land.

I am very proud of you two hopefully your also proud of me, because I am also working very hard. I am a changed man, more brave, and intelligent. This is a great army and I know they will help my kids become strong and tough later on in the future. I really do see a great future ahead of me, and you guys. I hope I can see you guys very soon because I really miss you two a lot, stay strong you two.                                                                                                                                                                                         Your Son Serafeim

What We Did This Week For Math Class.

Filed under: Uncategorized @ 10:05 pm and

This week for math was pretty hard for me. We had to take a test with 65 questions, that’s called the bench mark test. That test testes us on all the things we’ve done throughout the year. Some of the questions were a little hard for me because I forgot how to do some of the stuff, but after thinking about it for a while I would remember how to do them. We didn’t spent the whole week on the test. We only worked on it Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, although we were practicing for the test Tuesday and Monday. Well I’m glad the test is over for me because my head was hurting from all that thinking, I hope I passed. :)

65 Year Old Life.

Filed under: Uncategorized @ 5:13 pm and

In this post, I’m pretending to be 65 years old and giving advice to my middle school self.

Howdy Jonathon this is you in the future. Well when your older you aren’t going to the college you wanted to go to, but you will go to a good college. I think when I was your age I would change the ways I didn’t care about the assignments you where given too but as the times go by and you notice your grades dropping you get better grades and do better in school. When you are in high school you will have good classes and graduate. When you are about 30 you will get a job in a medical field but around March you get laid off. You spend about 2 months looking for a job when finally you become a lawyer. From their you begin a wonderful life but you do go through some ups and downs in life. Now, all that can change if you don’t stay in school and get good grades, so stay in school. . Right now I’m doing great. At 65 you will be nice and active. I take walks every morning, take my grandchildren to parks every Sundays, and I am always being nice to my friends, family and others.  I am always traveling with my family and always visiting the beach.

The Mary Celeste

Filed under: Uncategorized @ 7:03 am and

The Mary Celeste

  Waves where splashing.

The wind was blowing.

Their was a boat ,

It was the Mary Celeste.

The waves were huge.

As we traveled along,

the ocean we see

a weird Creature

It had a large head,

and large teeth.

It was big like

an elephant and

tall like a giraffe

Captain Briggs shouted

to watch out.

As we got closer to

the horrifying animal

we hear a noise and

it says

ROAR! ROAR!

we were scared to death,

the boat was scared too.

The animal seemed impatient

as the big boat floated

in the blue water.

The animal was hungry,

it was coming to us.

We knew we were

going to kick the bucket,

So we jumped overboard.

As we swam, and swam

the water was too cold.

So we gave up.

The monster is coming to us.
